Daisy Edgar-Jones flashes her toned abs in a stylish black crop top as she attends a Gucci event in New York City

Daisy opted for a soft glam makeup look which showed off her natural beauty, while her blonde locks were styled in loose waves.

The star carried a black and gold handbag as she posed up a storm outside of the event.

Daisy scored her breakthrough role in 2022, when she played the main role of Marianne in Sally Rooney’s Normal People opposite Paul Mescal as Connell.

The romantic drama, which was released on BBC Three in 2020, focused on the on-off relationship between Irish teenagers Marianne and Connell, beginning in their school days through to their time at university.

It comes after she previously revealed her mother didn’t want her to become an actress.

The actress – who was born and raised in Muswell Hill, North London – told her parents she wanted to pursue a career in acting at the age of 15.

Daisy’s parents, Wendy and Philip, both worked in television (her mother an editor; her father is now the head of Sky Arts).

When speaking on being and only child, she told Elle UK: ‘We get a hard rap but being an only child was great. I’m very good at making friends.

‘I remember going on holidays as a child, seeing kids playing in the pool and having to go up and ask, ‘Can I play?’ It was a good life lesson.’

At 15, her mum suggested Daisy audition for the National Youth Theatre after she’d said she wanted to be an actor.

She added: ‘I think she kind of hoped I wouldn’t get in. Not in a mean way – just because it’s a really hard job.’

She went on to speak about her career now and resilience in the industry: ‘As an actor, you have to be resilient.

‘If I have a bad day at work, it’s judged by a lot of people, and I have to live with it forever. But I still have to make brave choices to have a shot at making something remarkable.’

Daisy split with her boyfriend Tom Varey last year after two years of dating, with reports that she was looking to ‘focus on her career’.

A source speaking to The Sun claimed: ‘They got on really well during lockdown last year, but they’re both young and passionate about following their careers.
