Taylor Swift is not set to appear in Deadpool & Wolverine after all, despite rumours.
The pop icon has long been speculated to be making a cameo as Marvel character Dazzler in the upcoming sequel, with the likes of Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy previously playing coy about the rumours.
However, ahead of the movie’s release next month, Entertainment Weekly now reports that Swift will not appear in the movie – so it looks like it will be a cruel summer indeed.

Last year, Reynolds was pressed on the rumours, the star telling the Vancouver Sun: “Yeah, I’ve heard that one. I love it (the gossip).
“I think it is a sign of how eager people are to get a peek behind the curtain in this world. Every single one of these secrets and spoilers will be revealed on July 26.”
Before that, Levy was asked about the speculation, telling TheWrap: “I’m going across the board. ‘No comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.”
Much of the speculation arose after Swift was seen attending an NFL game last year with Levy, Reynolds and fellow MCU star Hugh Jackman.
Deadpool & Wolverine will see Reynolds and Jackman’s titular characters team up, also marking the first Deadpool entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As such, the movie is also set to make history as the highest age-rated movie in the MCU after receiving an R rating, and ahead of its release has also broken the record for best first-day ticket sales for a movie in 2024.
