Well, her first foray into competitive eating may not have gone as smoothly as she hoped, but Paige Spiranac wants to see how many hot dogs she can house on this Fourth of July holiday.
The former golf pro turned golf influencer recently made a bid to replace Joey Chestnut in the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, after organizers banned the 16-time champion over a deal he made with Impossible Foods to stump for the brand’s newly-launched plant-based hot dog.
Unfortunately, Spiranac learned the hard way that competitive eating is not as easy as the pros evidently make it look, managing to put away only six hot dogs in the space of 10 minutes.
However, she’s not letting a poor first showing stop her, as she revealed on social media on Tuesday night. “I’m doing it. I’m really doing it,” the 31-year-old wrote. “Attempting to see how many hotdogs I can eat in 10 minutes again this year. What’s your guess?”
