As everyone expected, Shakira did not disappoint during her presentation at halftime of the Copa América 2024 final, this Sunday. In front of more than 54,000 attendees at the Hard Rock Stadium in the city of Miami, the Barranquilla star added a Colombian flavor to the long-awaited soccer match.
After a long delay that prolonged the opening whistle of the match between the Colombian and Argentine teams for more than an hour, once the first half ended, the Colombian was seen in the middle of the sports stage, after four impressive helicopters and the figure of a wolf, which many already consider a symbol of the artist.

The Colombian star began his amazing presentation with his famous song Hips Don’t Lie, a song with a cumbia and rap rhythm, which in its original version he performed with the Haitian rapper Wyclef Jean almost two decades ago and became the anthem of the 2006 World Cup in Germany and one of the most successful songs in their repertoire.
Shouting “I love you, Colombia,” Shakira ignited the spirits of those present this Sunday and demonstrated once again why she is the favorite of world-class sporting events: she has performed at three World Cups (Brazil 2014, South Africa 2010 and Germany 2006), in addition to the 2020 Super Bowl, where he shared the stage with JLo, precisely at the Hard Rock Stadium.

And Shakira did not forget Gerard Piqué, her ex and father of her two children, Sasha and Milan, in the Copa América. At one point in her show she performed TQG, which has more than 42 million views on YouTube and which she recorded with Karol G, who minutes before had been in charge of singing the Colombian anthem in the stadium.

With the presence of the Barranquilla native this Sunday in Miami, there are now four Colombians who have participated in the Copa América: J Balvin appeared in the 2016 edition, which also took place in the United States; Karol G was in the 2019 tournament, held in Brazil; and Feid’s recent performance at the opening of the 48th edition of the contest.
