Shakira confessed that music has been her salvation and that for her composing is a “catharsis”. “It has always played a therapeutic role, and when I write the most is when I am at my worst. Life gives me a beating and I have learned a lot from this and I feel stronger. I didn’t think I had so much vital energy to overcome certain stages of life. And it turns out that I was less fragile than I thought. My music has been my main survival tool,” she said.
