Objects, instruments and costumes from artists such as Shakira, Rosalía, Ricky Martin and Carlos Santana will be displayed in a series of exhibits designed to mark the 25th anniversary of the Latin Grammy Awards, the Latin Recording Academy, organizers of these awards, announced Thursday.

The Paley Museum in New York City, the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles and the Gary Nader Art Center in Miami will host exhibitions starting next September that will serve to highlight the “great achievements” of music with a Hispanic flavor, as the president of the academy, Manuel Abud, said.

“For 25 years we have had the immense privilege of celebrating excellence in Latin music, accompanying our music creators in their worldwide successes. These exhibitions are a magnificent opportunity to bring the magic of the Latin Grammys to the public,” he added.

The inaugural exhibition of this series will open its doors on September 13 at the Paley Museum, where until November 3, visitors will be able to see “priceless objects, glamorous costumes and iconic instruments of music superstars,” including Grammy and Latin Grammy winners Ricky Martin, Rosalía, Carlos Santana and Shakira.

Articles from famous New Yorkers such as Celia Cruz and Rubén Blades will also be part of the exhibition in the city of skyscrapers, which “will show why Latin music has become an integral part of our culture,” according to a statement released Thursday.

In Los Angeles, the exhibition will open on September 19 on the second floor of the Grammy Museum, where there is already a permanent exhibition dedicated to Latin music and which will be “enriched” with objects from Carlos Santana and Karol G as a result of this exhibition, which will remain open until December 18.

“The essence of the exhibition lies in understanding how Latin music has become an enormously successful commercial force in the international music scene in the last quarter of a century, with the Latin Grammys playing a fundamental role in its global development,” the note highlights.

The Gary Nader gallery in Miami, for its part, will focus its exhibition on paintings by artists such as Romero Britto, Walter Goldfarb, and Michael V. Ríos, the latter responsible for the design of the cover of the award-winning album ‘Supernatural’, by Carlos Santana.

The show in this city in southern Florida will take place between September 26 and December 20. The twenty-fifth edition of the Latin Grammy Awards will be held on November 14 in downtown Miami, and will be broadcast live on TelevisaUnivision.
