On Saturday, September 14, Shakira was left stunned while giving a performance at the LIV Miami nightclub when she caught a man trying to record under her dress in the middle of the stage.
The man was captured in a video that immediately went viral on social media, causing an uproar, since the singer left the stage indignantly when she saw what was going on.
Initially, users on social media speculated that the aggressor was a fan of the singer. However, the shock increased because the man was actually identified as a member of Shakira’s staff.
The singer was performing her new single, ‘Soltera’, when she suffered the aggression. When she noticed it, she immediately made a gesture with her hands asking to stop recording, and, after noticing that the man was still doing it, she stopped her performance and got off the stage.

Sofia Bukele, director of Hispanic and Latam Media Relations, issued a statement stating that the assailant was a Shakira fan and explained that the man who was filming Shakira was a member of her staff and that “he was taking images of the show for official purposes.”
“And although a rumor has been generated about a fan who was filming under her skirt, the truth is that who was recording was a member of her own team taking content from her performance at the renowned nightclub”.
She even assured that although users on social media labeled the event as an “awkward moment”, in reality Shakira asked her followers to put their phones aside in order to fully enjoy the show.
“The Colombian asked her fans to put down their phones so they could enjoy the moment with her and be present to enjoy an unforgettable night,” the document states.
However, this statement does not explain the annoyance of the singer, who was at the event sharing the stage with other artists such as Danna, Anitta and Lele Pons, who prolonged the party until the early hours of Sunday morning.
Among the attendees were also present: model Winnie Harlow, Kyle Kuzma, and rapper French Montana, who enjoyed the evening.
