After confirming that Shakira and her children traveled outside of Spain to settle in another country and start a new life, the Colombian singer took to her social networks to say goodbye to Barcelona, the city where she lived much of her life alongside former soccer player Gerard Piqué.
Through her official Instagram account, the “TQG” and “Te Felicito” singer shared a panoramic photograph of the Spanish city. Along with her postcard, the Colombian singer wrote an extensive and heartfelt farewell message.
“I settled in Barcelona to give my children stability, the same stability that we now seek in another corner of the world with family, friends and the sea. Today we begin a new chapter in the search for your happiness. Thank you to everyone who surfed so many waves with me there in Barcelona, the city where I learned that without a doubt friendship is longer than love,” Shakira wrote.
“Thank you to everyone there who encouraged me, dried my tears, inspired me and made me grow. Thanks to my Spanish audience who have always supported me with their love and loyalty. For you, just see you later and as my father said so many times, see you around the corners,” added the Colombian.
As you remember, Shakira has lived in Barcelona since 2011, the year in which her relationship with former Spanish soccer player Gerard Piqué became public. On June 4, 2022, she announced that they had separated and shortly afterward she expressed the desire to move to Miami, United States.
Now, as established in the agreement that the couple signed in November, the singer will move with her children to the United States after spending the Christmas holidays in Spain. In this way, Shakira completely distances herself from her ex-partner to embark on a new course in her life.
