Shakira wins Best Pop/Urban Album at Premios Juventud

Shakira continues to conquer the music world with her talent. The Barranquilla native continues to earn money after more than 30 years of musical career and now she has added another award to her career thanks to her most recent album ‘Las mujeres ya no lloran’.

This Thursday, the Premios Juventud 2024 that took place in Puerto Rico, honored the most relevant figures Spanish:of Hispanic entertainment, covering singers, actors and influencers. Shakira was presented as one of the great favorites with six nominations in categories such as Premios Juventud Femenina Artist, La Mezcla Perfecta, OMG Collaboration, Girl Power, Best Pop/Urban Collaboration and Best Pop/Urban Album.

Finally, the artist won an award in the category of Best Pop/Urban Album, highlighting her latest album as the best of the year in that genre. On the other hand, Karol G and Peso Pluma became the most awarded artists of the night, taking home five awards each.

“This album has become a work that each of you has made your own. Thank you for connecting in so many ways with Las mujeres ya no lloran. “This award for Best Pop/Urban Album at the Premios Juventud is as much yours as it is mine! Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” said the Barranquilla native.

This new recognition consolidates Las mujeres ya no lloran as one of the most outstanding albums of the last year. Billboard recently ranked it as the second best Latin album of 2024 so far.

With eight unreleased songs, this album features collaborations with the North American rapper Cardi B, the Mexicans from Grupo Frontera and the Argentine Bizarrap.

In addition, the Barranquilla native obtained a 7X platinum record for the album that, without being released, already registered a significant figure in sales.

Las mujeres no lloran is the singer-songwriter’s twelfth studio album, and her record label Sony Music describes it as “a dazzling testament to Shakira’s resilience and strength, as well as the power of music to transform the most difficult experiences into valuable moments.”
