Although Taylor Swift won nine out of the 11 MTV VMAs she was nominated for on September 12th – and looked incredible in an asymmetric high-slit Versace dress on the arrivals red carpet – it was also Shakira’s night too!
The 46-year-old Colombian singer – who was honored with the highly-coveted Video Vanguard Award – flaunted her insane curves in a gold backless Versace gown with risqué side cutouts when she arrived at the ceremony; and she also donned another spectacular Versace number when she accepted her ‘Best Collaboration’ award for her work on “TQG” with Karol G. (She also wore a stunning gold sparkly mini dress and a blush pink jacket to accept her Video Vanguard Award. So many outfit changes – and we loved them all!)
Shakira Accepts ‘Best Collaboration’ Award In Blue Versace Dress
While accepting the ‘Best Collaboration’ award for “TQG” with Karol G, the mom-of-two changed into perhaps our favorite dress of the entire night – a powder blue Versace dress with front, back and side cutouts and an impossibly high leg slit!
The dress seemed to be held together by safety pins, which have become a true Versace signature detail that therefore makes the designer of the brand unmistakable! She accessorized the show-stopping dress with gold heels to match the gold safety pins, and wore her voluminous curly hair in a side-swept down do. We bow down to Shakira and Donatella Versace for this look – we are not worthy!
On September 13th, Donatella Versace took to Instagram and shared two images and a video of the “Acróstico” singer in her remarkable blue Versace dress, and captioned the post: “What a night for you, Shakira!! Soak in the love. You are looking iconic in Versace! @shakira.” She finished off with an apt blue heart emoji; and as expected, the comments section was overflowing with praise for Shakira’s look!
