Even Kylie Jenner Is Experimenting With the ‘Quiet Luxury’ Trend

Not that any of the KarJenners are chill, but if there’s a sister we’d expect to “throw something on” for the day, it’d be Kourtney, maybe Kendall. But Kylie Jenner has miraculously emerged from the holiday weekend looking…easy-breezy, beautiful. Her Paris style (yeah, she was in Paris over the weekend, are you surprised?) is a far cry from her usual look, and so much more relaxed. Looks like the Sofia Richie Grainge–ification of Kylie isn’t going to stop any time soon.

Jenner usually goes for body-con dresses with provocative cutouts, loud colors and patterns, straps and clasps and appliques, and shirts that, let’s be honest, are bras. Yet while bopping around the City of Lights, she opted for neutral, youthful looks that might be…actually kinda comfy?

First, she grabbed lunch in a black dress that, while low-cut, featured a skirt wide enough that you don’t have to worry about flashing crack when you bend over. Then she popped by Chanel in a preppy white ensemble and…can’t even believe I’m about to type these words…sensible pumps. WHAT?!

She followed that up with another dress, this time in white, which, well, I’d never be able to keep it that clean, but otherwise? Could and would wear!

What happened to Miss Leather and Lace? Our theory: She’s been Sofia Richie Grainge–pilled, going for old money simplicity rather than the, er, rather loud looks her family usually flaunt. A mix of aspirational and relatable. Don’t hate it!

Perhaps this make-under is an attempt to seem more “normal” in the face of increased backlash against a certain kind of out-of-touch celeb, but given that Kylie Jenner is only 25, I’d also believe that she wants to stop spending an hour every morning painting herself into a pin-up and maybe just, like, look nice for the day. In sunglasses that probably cost more than my car. This is her version of regular.
